Knowledge makes it possible to make a model “intelligent”, to introduce into a model of the rules trade, it makes it possible to increase the potential of re-uses of digitalizations, creates generic components, creates a catalogue of parts or, autodéfinition with the automatic dimensioning of some portions of part compared to dimensions of one or more parts of the unit.

Knowledge thus makes it possible to create interactions between the parts of a unit. Or to introduce modifications of parts according to options defined as a preliminary.

CONTEXT OF THE PROJECT

The Knowledge part of our project, has for a function to program our model for each circuit of season 2005 of formula 1.
Thus by choosing a circuit, the elements of specific adjustment has this race (the supports aerodynamics, the front aileron, side extractors of air etc) evolve. We have also to program the pneumatic type (tire rain and dry tire).

METHODOLOGY

Method :

In the first time, it was necessary on the basis of photographs, to determine the parts on which intervened of the changes throughout the season.
Then for each circuit to index these changes in a table. Lastly, to parameterize the model by using the module Knowledge Advisor of CATIA V5.

Programming :

We will take as example the programming of the tires (pneumatique in french), which is simpler than that of the circuits, but is to program same manner.

It is necessary in first to create a parameter and to declare these variables, here the name of the parameter is tire (pneumatique in french) and its variables: dry (sec in french) or rain (pluie in french).

If the variable created does not appear in the construction tree , you must go in Tools - Options Structure of the product - personalization of the tree and activate Paramètre.

Then a rule should be published, for our project we have to play with the activation and the desactivation of the parts.

For the end in the construction tree to come to change the parameters of the variable.
