THE PARTS

Modeling in context :

We chose to work in context because we had very little dimension to exploit. We modelled the majority of the parts using photographs or drawings (see workshop Sketch tracer).
 This method enabled us to dimension the parts compared to a whole of the vehicle to have a homogeneity of the unit. This is why our model approaches reality without any time to have exact dimensions of them.
 
 All our parts leave the same plans of origin, we chose to use this technique which is used in the automobile sector. the origin is in the middle of the axis of the nose gear wheels.
 
 We set up the use of this function during the project. This is why our first parts (Train and suspension) always does not respect these criteria, that we asserted ourselves.

Denomination :

We chose as of the beginning the names of the many parts (see data management), which enabled us to have quite specific names of part (perhaps too long). But that has an advantage, with only the name one can find his site very quickly.

The symmetries :

We carried out symmetries of parts in the workshop “PART DESIGN”. The left parts are the parts of references (left while putting itself at the place of the pilot).

Step :

 - To open the part of reference (in a window).
 - To create CATPart (in a new window).
 - To copy the principal body on Part of reference .
 - To make a special joining with bond in the CATPart news.
 - To assemble the body copied with the principal body.
 - To carry out the symmetry of the body copied in the CATPart news in plan ZX.

Interest :

 - The modifications made to the solid of reference will impact the symmetrized part.

Geometrical set :

We chose to use in workshop “GENERATIVE SHAPE DESIGN” the function “geometrical Set ordered”.
 We set up the use of this function during the project. This is why our first parts (Train and suspension) always do not respect the criteria, that we asserted ourselves.

Step :

 -  As of the reflexion beginning on the step of construction of the part.
 -
Use of element of exit of assembly, like “assembling” or “crossing, to assemble”. The modifications will be facilitated there.

Interest :

 - The element of exit makes it possible to clearly distinguish surface representing the zone from construction.
 - The elements in the geometrical set “construction (Building in French)” are hidden, the visibility is largely improved by it.
 - Allows replacements and simplified modifications.
 - Update facilitated .
 - Ordered tree structure.
 - In the event of scheduling error, one can transform the “ordered geometrical set” into “geometrical set classic”, This set being easier to work again (but a loss of rigour involves)
.

Analyze of surface :

We made each time the analyses of surface, that was not obvious, because we have “to juggle” between a perfect surface on the level of the analysis and surface reality realizes.

THE ASSEMBLIES

We put all the parts in the same file, which enabled us to use the propagation of recording.

We used the capital letters for the products, which allows best reference mark the PRODUCTS of the PARTS. This fashion is the best than if one works in “file” (without data management system).

Use of the products :

We used to the maximum the products, that makes it possible to have a clean and organized tree structure. Their denomination was thought as of the beginning at the same time as those of the parts.

Indicated the products as of the beginning, the advantage has of better managing the whole of the models and of not calling same designation for different parts.

This technique enabled us to take cover from broken bonds. This appears most of the time while moving or by récréant products in the course of modeling.

WORKSHOP SKETCH TRACER

Introduction :

The principle of this workshop is to position an image in the graphic zone, according to a reference frame. What makes it possible to rebuild surfaces using contours of the image.

We used this workshop for the assemblies :
 
  - Front aileron
  - Back aileron
  - Assembly boby

Method :

- To find images which must of type be seen of top, side, face, but not of isometric sight. The angles of sight must be perfectly perpendicular between them.

- First of all to position the graphic zone in the corresponding sight, the selected sight will have to correspond to the sight of the image.

- A first phase makes it possible to indicate a dimension characteristic of the object. It is necessary to adjust the framework then by using the zoom (end of the arrows).

- It any more but does not remain to build surfaces using the functions of workshop GSD.
